A Brush with Nature

Ages 6–11 | 75-Minute Class

Step outside and let nature inspire your creativity! InA Brush with Nature, young artists will explore the colors, textures, shapes, and tiny details found in the world around them.

We’ll begin with a littlelight movement to get the wiggles out, help artists reset, and get their bodies and imaginations ready to create. Then, when the weather is nice, we’ll head outdoors to sketch, observe, and gather inspiration from flowers, leaves, trees, insects, changing skies, and whatever else catches our artistic eye.

Each artist will receive theirown sketchbookto use throughout the class for drawing, painting, observations, and creative ideas.

Back in the studio, nature becomes our starting point for projects usingpainting, drawing, mixed media, clay, fiber arts, collage, and more.

This 75-minute class gives artists time tomove, explore, slow down, look closely, and createwhile discovering just how much artistic inspiration can be found right outside our door.  Fall semester runs for 12 weeks
